Witch Doctor Leveling Builds & Gameplay Guide 1-10
Playing as the Witch Doctor you get a nice variety of damage spells, between level 1-10, as well as your first summon. Pets are great because they do damage and they can also tank while you nuke your enemies!
In the early levels your main damage skill is Poison Dart and, for a brief period of time, Corpse Spiders. Poison Dart costs is great because it uses up very little mana and does a fair amount of damage making it a great spammable spell.
Once you reach level 4 you get your first summon skill which is Summon Zombie Dogs. Always recast this so you maintain 3 active dogs. They will follow you about, attack any nearby enemies and tank for you. They really help chop down enemies at a fast pace allowing you to level up quicker.
Then at level 6 you get Firebats which is a channelling spell and although it does more damage than Poison Dart it really burns thourgh mana quite fast. You should really only use it on bosses or strong mobs. You also unlock the Splinters Rune which makes Poison Dart an area of effect spell, this is awesome for quickly cutting through a group of enemies.
At level 9 you unlock Soul Harvest which will replace Summon Zombie Dogs (never fear, you'll get them back in a few levels). In order to use Soul Harvest effectively you need to run into a pack of mobs and use it, it will then HUGELY buff your intelligence which will massively increase your spell damage. Whilst Soul Harvest is active your Firebats will quickly cut down monsters and bosses. Poison Dart also becomes much more effective against groups of mobs.
